An action comedy about a sharp shooter from the S.W.A.T team (SDU) in Hong Kong who gets fired for failing to show up in time for a hostage mission because he was womanizing at a local disco. Out of a job, he meets a beautiful wandering girl, at his friend's pub and takes her in not knowing she is the daugther of a triad boss. She is hunted and Mr. Mumble becomes her bodyguard. At first, she is disgusted with the fact that Mumble was always trying to get into the sack with her. But when danger arises, Mumble utilizes his special skills to serve and protect. At the end, does Mumble get his woman?

Director 'Nicholas Ray' is eager to complete a final film before his imminent death from cancer. Wim Wenders is working on his own film Hammett (1983) in Hollywood, but flies to New York to help Ray realize his final wish. Ray's original intent is to make a fiction film about a dying painter who sails to China to find a cure for his disease. He and Wenders discuss this idea, but it is obviously unrealistic given Ray's state of health.

Dominick and Eugene are twins, but Dominick is a little bit slow due do an accident in his youth. They live together, with Dominick working as garbage man to put Eugene through medical school. Their relationship becomes strained when Eugene must decide between his devotion to his brother, or his need to go away to complete his training. Things are also not helped by Dominick's co-worker, or Eugene's budding romance.
