"I was born beneath this water. I was 10 years old when it all happened. Some things I remember well, others are blurred and confused. People change address, new churches are built, new bakeries, houses and streets ... But in this case, everything changed at the same time. Perhaps it was a way of pretending that nothing moved at all." During six years the makers shot this film in Luz Village (Portugal), condemned to disappear beneath the waters of the Alqueva dam. Especially for this project, a new village was constructed. But the forced migration does not pass very smoothly, since existing social structures, as well as the unique relation with nature are being disturbed. Combining these images with stories told by children who recollect their life during the moving process, this documentary presents the strange story of this village.

The documentary takes a close look at the present situation of rural education in China. The story takes places in a over-crowded and under-funded middle school in a poor rural area of Yunnan. The school has a student population of 1,700 which is much larger than the school can handle. The film records the daily school life which includes school duties, classroom teaching, morning assembly, staff meeting, student counseling and public services, etc. The film shows the typical school life teachers and students face every day. The documentary employs the observational approach; there is no voiceover or interview.

Set in a post-war period in a small central coastal village with extremely harsh nature, the film revolves around Luy. After returning from the war, he was assigned as Commune Secretary. However, his wife is now married to Son, a soldier of the Republic of Vietnam regime. Luy has to fulfill his responsibilities and duties, while also having to deal with his own life, his wife, her new husband and their children.

Every year on August 29 ("since the world and the earth", says a local in the film), the village of Nisipuri is celebrating: there is a bâlci whose spirit has gone all over the south of the country. The locals are very proud of their town, at least until they come to the comparison of the past with the present, when the balance inevitably tilts in favor of the former term. The documentary captures—through hand-held footage and long shots (let's not forget that the cinematographer is Andrei Butica)—the day before the big day, the preparations, the actual event, and... the breaking of the fair.

As a videographer of the villagers, I felt that this year's epidemic could be recorded, so I held the camera at the village's epidemic prevention duty post and spent it with the villagers.

Akira Iwamori works as a doctor. He is looking for his wife, who went missing. He takes his daughter to visit his wife's hometown village of Uzukawa. While in Uzukawa, the village suddenly becomes isolated due to a landslide caused by heavy rain. The villagers becomes filled with anxiety and a murder takes place. The tense village people become violent. Akira is soon drawn into a power struggle in Uzukawa. He learns new information about his wife's whereabouts.

The name of the sender is the female whose mysterious death from a fall, is the subject of Kosaku’s new novel.
