About 30 km away from Varanasi there is a small village of Dhakvan, where lives a Brahmin named Ram Dayal Dixit who has been living among Harijans, like a Harijan. He has also married a Harijan girl. This act of his invited a great wrath from the caste Hindus. He had to suffer a lot. Ram Dayal a fighter for the cause is not afraid of being called a chamar. But his story very sharply reveals the caste-ridden society that India is, particularly in its villages of north India.

Basara, on one of his frequent trips across the galaxy to spread the message of his music, folds in on an icy planet. The natives are hostile, and take him prisoner until he begins to sing for them and a little boy named Pedro recognizes his voice. Rumi's met a lot of guys through her job, and it's probably fair to assume that most of them could be said to have some sort of problem, but a man who literally turns into a beast when he gets turned on may be outside of this perky call girl's field of expertise.
