The documentary Mayor is not only a story about the legendary Branko Pesic, a great builder and visionary, who created the greatest symbols of Belgrade, the capital of Yugoslavia, but also about a beloved citizen of the capital, more popular even than Josip Broz Tito.

How the everyday life of a 3500 inhabitant's village mayor look like ? How to combine a family life with your responsabilities ? How the mayor duty evolved during last decades ? In an obviously subjective documentary, Kévin Fafournoux tells the story of his father who, in 2020, put an end to 25 years of mayorship in Veyre-Monton, a village of Auvergne, a region in France.

The action occurs in early 12th century Galicia during the reign of Alfonso VII. Sancho de Roelas, a nobleman who has fallen on hard times, announces to his lord Tello de Neira his intention to marry Elvira de Olite, also of impoverished noble lineage. Don Tello offers to be best man at the wedding but on seeing Elvira falls in love with her beauty and kidnaps her. She refuses to have sex with him and Sancho travels to Leon to get Alfonso's help. Alfonso finally comes to Tello's manor-house incognito and – after revealing his identity and finding out that Tello has raped Elvira – forces him to marry Elvira. He then executes Tello, restoring Elvira's honour and endowing her with half Tello's estate.

Set in the early stage after liberation of Shanghai, Chen Yi is delegated to be mayor and deals with a lot of economic and social issues.
