Yumenosaki Private Academy, a school located on a hill facing the ocean. Specializing in boys' idol training, the school has a long history of producing generations of idols for the entertainment world out of the young men overbrimming with talents, like the shining stars in the sky. Due to "special circumstances," you are a transfer student at the school, as well as the only female student there. In fact, you are chosen to be the very first student of the "producer course," and your task is to produce these idols… We hope you will enjoy your journey with the idols you meet at the academy, as well as the vigorous ensemble that together you will make.

Awaiting new club leader Kumiko is the Ensemble Contest -- a.k.a. "EnCon"-- and the school's preliminary competition to determine the representative team to participate. Kumiko tries her best to make it to the preliminaries without incident, but the concert band club is so large that there seems to be no end to the problems... And as the club leader, she finds herself busy consulting on all sorts of matters. While the club members are deciding on their teams, Kumiko herself hasn't even decided which she will join...

There is a performance team preparing for an outdoor yard play in Jeonju. Director Young-ro, supporting director Se-young. Actor Man-sik and his wife Hye-young. And Joo-young, the youngest member of the performance team. And Minwoo, who plays busking music. The warm, heart-wrenching stories of the three couples are depicted in omnibus format.

Ensemble Square - a brand new building in the middle of the city where countless people come and go. It’s home to four offices belonging to idols who spend their days singing and dancing. Films starring the Ensemble Square idols have been nominated for the Idol Film Festival (IFF), an annual festival held in New York City, and representative idols are selected to attend. The boys jet off to NYC to attend the festival and reception party, and afterward, head out on the town to see the sights and sounds. But a suspicious shadow is creeping up on them…

Follow several talented members of the ensemble as they gather in locations across the world, exploring the ways art can both preserve traditions and shape cultural evolution.

"The Ensemble of Rules" is a media project that takes the form of 1) a full-length 60 minute documentary film for theatrical exhibition, 2) a series of six physical installations, and 3) a dissertation entitled "Celebrate Citizenship, Celebrate America: A revision of the form N-400 The Application for Naturalization". The overall media research attempts to investigate and respond to the content of the audiovisual guide for naturalization produced by USCIS entitled "The USCIS Naturalization Interview and Test". Simultaneously the research aims to open new interpretations of this immigration processes by including interviews with displaced individuals. The documentary includes conversations with Alma Jimenez, a naturalized US citizen originally from Mexico City, Rafael Madou-Madou, a Congolese refugee living in Buffalo, NY, and fragments of a documentary piece about María "La Gata" de Buenos Aires, a tango singer and immigrant from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
