Brave 10 is a manga series by Kairi Shimotsuki, serialized in Media Factory's Comic Flapper from 2007 to 2010. The series was resumed on June 15, 2011 and retitled Brave 10 Spiral, better known as Brave 10 S, serialized in Monthly Comic Gene. An anime adaptation by Studio Sakimakura and TMS Entertainment began airing on January 8, 2012. The original manga series is licensed by Tokyopop, though no volumes have been released as of 2012. The series is based on the legendary Sanada Ten Braves, a group of ninja that assisted warlord Sanada Yukimura during the Sengoku period of Japan. The series had been licensed for streaming on Crunchyroll.

Takeru Yagi lives a normal, average life. He lives with his adoptive father Rokunosuke, and eats breakfast with two neighborhood girls, the sisters Asuka and Kotono. Takeru attends a kendo club at school with his best friend and rival Takeshi. It's an idyllic, peaceful life, where the greatest drama is whether Takeru or Takeshi will represent the school at the kendo tournament. Then one day, everything changes. Takeru and his friends are transported to a world like their own, yet fallen to ruin and filled with monsters. Moreover, people in strange clothes are highly interested in all of them.

The year is 2661 CE. Ten years ago, Bashin Dan became the trigger that stopped the Earth from resetting itself. An epic fresco depicting the reign (1593-1601) of Mihai Pătrașcu (better known as "Mihai Viteazul" / "Michael the Brave"), the famous prince who united the three provinces: Transalpine Vallachia, Transylvania and Moldavia, into the country of Romania, at the end of the 16th century (1599-1601) against the opposition of the Ottoman and Austrian Empires, this movie features large scale battle scenes mixed with political intrigues, murderous treachery, and family drama.

Guo Jing and Yang Kang are the sons of two rebels. The rebels are killed by imperial soldiers and the boys are rescued by six pugilists later. The pugilists agree to separate the two boys, tutor them separately in martial arts, and let them meet again when they have grown up, to determine whose abilities are better. Guo becomes the student of the "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan" while Yang Kang becomes the foster son of a Jurchen prince inadvertently.

Guo Jing and Huang Rong return to Peach Blossom Island and are shocked to see that Guo's first martial arts teachers, the "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan", have all been murdered except for Ke Zhen'e. Guo Jing is tricked into believing that Huang Rong's father, Huang Yaoshi, is responsible for the murders and he attempts to avenge his teachers by fighting Huang Yaoshi. The intelligent Huang Rong eventually uncovers the truth and reveals that the murders are actually part of a plot masterminded by Ouyang Feng and Yang Kang. Ouyang and Yang want to make Guo Jing and Huang Yaoshi kill each other and Yang can learn Ouyang's newly mastered skills from the fake copy of the Nine Yin Manual.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Shandong warrior Ma Yong-Zhen was murdered in Shanghai by the evil Axe gang. His sister, Ma Su-Zhen heard the news and swears to take revenge for her brother. Alone she makes her way to Shanghai to tackle the Axe gang and the evil forces that control them.

Director's Cut Edition Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger BRAVE PRELUDE is the release of the director's cut version of Kyoryuger's first four episodes (Brave 1: He's Here! The Bright Red King, Brave 2: Gaburincho! Biting Combination, Brave 3: It's Going to Get Wild! The Slashing Brave, Brave 4: Shoot Through! The Gaburivolver of Courage), with a total running time of 106 minutes. The release features an additional 15 minutes of unreleased scenes from the series' first four episodes which explains how the other four Kyoryugers acquired their respective Zyudenryu. Also included are ending dance video, creditless ending, solo version of ending, and an audio commentary. The trailer for the Blu-Ray and DVD was released on July 25th 2013. Director's Cut Edition Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger BRAVE PRELUDE is available in both Blu-Ray and DVD, for 7800 yen and 6800 yen respectively. It was released on September 13th 2013.
