1994 documentary focused on the creation of movie and television special effects, hosted by Roy Scheider and Jonathan Brandis, featuring behind the scenes look at how the visual effects were created for popular films of the era. GBR Entertainment Productions also co-produced the long running Movie Magic television series which concerned itself with motion picture SFX and VFX, and which started its run in the same year. The series actually kicked off with an episode covering the same ground as this television special.

The Japanese government sets up a special task force to fight the giant creatures suddenly appearing across the country. Soon, the squad unexpectedly meets a giant silver humanoid who starts appearing every time a space monster attacks!

Hayata is a member of the Science Patrol, an organization tasked with investigating bizarre anomalies. He is mortally wounded when accidently encountering an alien being from Land of Light, who grants Hayata new life as the two are merged into one. Now, whenever a threat arises that is too great for the Science Patrol to handle, Hayata activates the beta capsule and becomes the hero known as Ultraman.

It’s the mid-1970s at a time before the TV recording function became commonplace. The Kaijuu Club is a group of youths that loves fancy special effects series such as Ultraman and Ultra Seven. They put everything into researching monsters which appear in these series from every possible angle and hold editorial meetings to publish a fan magazine on the monsters. The members of the club would gather at their usual coffee shop and have enthusiastic and heated discussions without being daunted by the chilly stares of the people around them.
