Join us on an expedition to learn the story of the world’s highest skatepark! The Pura Pura skatepark in La Paz, Bolivia, is nothing short of a 1,200 square-metre DIY skate miracle. Formed in 2014 in a collaborative effort undertaken by the mighty Make Life Skate Life non-profit organization alongside co-ordinator Robin Höning and local Bolivian skaters like Milton Arellano and Kenny Davalos, this unique space was constructed in a little under a month by an army of over a hundred volunteers from fifteen countries who ascended on the space to create skateboarding magic.

25 years ago a group of bored skateboarders took a bag of stolen concrete underneath the Burnside Bridge and built a small bank up against it’s back wall. Without knowing it, they would change the face of skateboarding, creating an international landmark skaters pilgrimage to every day. Our documentary about this legendary park was released to widespread acclaim in the skate scene and has since been watched by hundreds of thousands all over the world. Nothing Meaner started life as an innocent suggestion that someone should make a ‘Best of the Deaner’ montage to mark the 20th anniversary of the Dean Lane Hardcore Funday – an annual skate jam hosted by the locals. That idea quickly snowballed into a 45-minute documentary covering more than 40 years of skateboarding history, beginning in the spring of 1978 when Bristol City Council built Dean Lane skatepark on a hill in the south of the city.
