Pu Songling, a legendary demon hunter, is asked to investigate the mysterious disappearances of young girls from a small village. Life in the isolated town of Charrúa is dominated by the presence of a large power plant that distributes energy to most of Chile. A little boy hunts rabbits, residents demand better electrical coverage at a town meeting, a woman waters the plants outside her house and a local radio station relays the day's happenings. At night, wildlife is captured on camera, along with strange bursts of light that momentarily illuminate a countryside criss-crossed with pylons and cables. And ever present is the insidious hum of electricity.

In 1950s Copenhagen, Jens is a law student with a part-time job in a law firm. He lives at home and is more or less engaged to Lis. Jens' life is very regular and organized until he meets slightly older Erhard, a head clerk at the firm. Erhard lures Jens into the mysterious city nightlife, and from now on, Jens' life changes. The engagement is broken off and his education is neglected.

A drama about double personality

In my memory, Brazil is a film with few images and long stretches of darkness. While the screen remains black, my fears and longings are projected onto it, combining the images and attempting to give them meaning. Brazil has wormed its way into my imagination in a form the country has never assumed in real life.

Albert is a distinguished art dealer living in New York City. One day by chance, he visits a photo exhibit titled "Bistrot de Paris" by Carol Labronsky. In an old photo of two young lovers kissing while seated at a Bistro, Albert recognizes his first love, Rose, the girl he fell madly in love with during his stay in Paris in 1959, and had disappeared after leaving him. In that photograph Rose is wearing a sweater which Albert gave her, proof that the photo was taken after she had met him. Tormented by memories, AIbert feels a burning need to find out whet became of her.

In the backstreets of Ginza, the boss of a hairdressing salon is found dead, killed by strangulation. The detective on the case soon hears rumors about the murder.
