A powerful three-part documentary studying the US involvement in Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. The availability of housing is a big topic today. It has the strongest impact on those who participate least in the public debate – low-income households, minorities or single women. The film follows a group of activists around Martin Freund, a representative and member of the Live Brno movement, as they try to persuade politicians in the second largest Czech city about their vision of affordable housing.

A locked up house where one can play, windows opened, the stone house, a wedding dress, the plants no-one takes care of for months, goats, pigs and horses, rainy days and the pool left unused, the husband who went clandestinely to France, the tree-house to be built, round gates they didn’t let us do, upward mattresses to protect against the dampness, the house build for some 30 years and the unfinished house, the house of our dreams. It’s summertime, the month of August, in Vascões, North of Portugal. Many of the houses of emigrants, empty during the rest of the year, are once more inhabited. We visit six of them, guided by the stories of those who built them.

Over almost half a century, the house in Zagreb at 35 Kraljevec has sheltered many diverse people. At some point in life, it was everyone’s home. Many of the house’s tenants were prominent in different fields of artistic and social activities, so it was the place where amazing books, film scripts, photographs, illustrations, music, shows, films were made… The house, originally built by Slobodan Praljak, hosted, among others, Abdulah Sidran, Goran Babić, the Ayllu group, Igor Kordej, Goran Pavelić Pipo, Milan Trenc, Davor Slamnig and Pjer Žardin, with Mirko Ilić, Vilim Matula, Davor Gobac and frequent visitors. The tenants later scattered across the world: South America, Canada, New York, The Hague, Belgrade, Sarajevo and Ljubljana. At the seafront garden, the members of The Worker's Youth Union and the members of fascist organization are fighting. Absorbed in their feelings Vladko and Aneto have nothing to do with those events. Things at Aneto's big wealthy home look very different from Vladko's small house huddled in the yard. Kiril, Vladko's elder brother, is anxious about Vladko who should have been at the rally, but is writing poetry instead. Aneto and Vladko are happily dancing at the school-leavers' ball. Kiril has killed a German officer. The ball breaks out. Aneto has disappeared in the confusion. Vladko goes to look after her. A group of people armed with clubs and knuckle-dusters beat him cruelly because he is Kiril's brother. Kiril has joined the partisans. Vladko is seriously ill and dies. Kiril and his comrades continue the struggle.

Misho becomes an orphan. The good people from the neighborhood take care of him until the child is placed in an orphanage. Everyone is trying to bring joy to the kid. However, Misho is searching for his mother's love in their eyes. Now the people are being kind to him, but there is always an invisible wall. Maybe uncle Elenko is the most sincere, since he shows his feelings in a tragic moment when Misho gets on a roof of a construction site. However, why does he care for Misho end with him convincing him to go to the orphanage?
