Louisa is living a gloomy life. She takes rescue in literature, loosing herself in books and novels. One day she takes a book from the library, she did not choose: A guide to Lucid Dreaming. Soon she discovers the endless options of this new universe of opportunities: living a dream.

An elderly veteran of WWII living in peaceful retirement with his son and the latter's family becomes increasingly lost in wartime memories and reminiscences, much to his son's consternation. One day, an item the old man reads in a magazine prompts him to go off unannounced on a war-related quest. The son goes searching for his father, and in doing so reaches a greater understanding of both the old man and the generation he represents.

Mikhail Tal becomes the youngest world chess champion at 23. The same year, he was diagnosed with incurable kidney disease and given only one year to live. Through sheer will and reckless abandon he managed to live another 40 years, filling them with a string of remarkable chess successes, unexplainable failures, amorous conquests and a life-threatening game of cat and mouse with the KGB.

Ostensibly a documentary or a music video chronicling influential post-punk Chinese group P.K. 14’s first national tour, Li Hongqi’s latest provocation becomes a rumination on existential ennui that takes place on endless highways as band members sit in their tour bus and anonymous hotels.

Using a combination of meditative static shots and frantic camera movement, he leads the viewer into a realm of extreme isolation, where self-regard and self-observation begin to mutate into a kind of voyeurism. Solitude and silence allow the objects and rituals of daily life — drinking a cup of tea, taking a shower — to take on significance. Lines of text from Karl Krolow's 'Poems Against Death' obliquely comment on this beautiful and reflective assemblage of domestic images.

Catalyst in the story of crossed paths is a 1957 Ford Fairlane being driven through Portugal’s Alentejo region to a new owner. Film’s overly protracted opening has car’s drivers (Filipe Cochofel, Antonio Pedro Figueiredo) joy riding the night away until the roadster breaks down. Momentum picks up at sunrise with their attempts to fix the car. A retired mechanic-turned-beekeeper with a heart condition (Canto e Castro) does the trick and convinces Figueiredo to take him cross-country on a motorbike to look up an old friend. Cochofel and the mechanic’s alarmed niece (Maysa Marta) follow in pursuit. The old man dies peacefully on the road, but Figueiredo, having wholeheartedly grasped his deliverance mission, keeps going.

Daniela would like to live far away from here in the future. Here, is a poor part of town in Montevideo, where Daniela lives in a small house with her son, husband, mother, sister and brother-in-law. They are better off than most of the people living in that neighborhood. They all work and the father provides them with whatever they need. He is one of the millions of emigrants from Latin America whose salaries are essential to the survival of their families. The movie carefully approaches Daniela’s world, tells her story, a girl immersed in daydreaming, who is also a down-to-earth mother, beloved daughter and young wife – and about the pain of emigration.

The hero of the film, the famous director, screenwriter, playwright Vasily Sigarev, tells stories from his life, which, when slightly transformed, become the stories of his plays. For the residents of his native Verkhnyaya Salda it's everyday. For the capital's theaters - an unprecedented reality of provincial life. For the audience - and laughter and horror. For the playwright - numerous prizes and endless pain.

For a long time, Nicolas has been getting by on his own. He is now 13 years old, loves the story of Ulysses and Jack London's books, and lives in a foster home in the Bruche valley with his friend Saef, who travelled from far away across the sea. Together they go into the woods to listen to their music and talk about girls or mopeds. Or to run away. Three siblings, brother Dinu and two sisters Anu and Buri meet on a seashore one morning after their mother's death. They reminiscence about their mother and her relentless journey in search of 'home'. Gradually as they dwell through their personal memories of 'mother' they unknowingly enter into unknown dark zones of mother and their own lives. The spirits of their ancestors too become part of their stories as the two sisters preform their memories. Dreams, fantasies, memories and reality starts to overlap to form a complex image of 'mother' in search of home.

The film reveals the extraordinary story of a Palestinian family.

"A Home Far Away from Home" was filmed between 1992 and 1993, recording the life course of a group of babysitters from Wuwei County in Anhui Province who have traveled to Beijing. The five rural girls -- Zhang Jufang, Xie Suping and Liu Chunhua -- all came from Wuwei County, Anhui Province. According to local customs, when a daughter grows up, she has to go outside and go out for herself. The most appropriate work is to work as a nanny. "A Home Far Away from Home" records these girls' lives in the following year. This is a bumpy life of a year. Looking for a job, being fired, and then looking for a job that suits you, looking for a place to live in a place far away from your hometown, and facing difficulties alone. In addition to the living conditions of the five rural girls, the film also extensively recorded the phenomenon of the "migrant worker tide" in the early 1990s, and made various manifestations of its background, problems and development direction.

A couple's love has made the time stand still. Isolated in a static world problems in their relations start coming to the surface.
