At the turn of the century, the Angels returned to Earth, seeking to wipe out humanity in an apocalyptic fury. A highly experimental film presenting a story out of chronological order taking place 15 years after a near-apocalyptic catastrophe, about four traumatized 14 year olds who are tasked with piloting massive humanoid decisive weapons called Evangelion, the psychologically maladjusted adults who handle and command them, and the events and forces that affect them or which they take part in as they engage massive hostile invaders known as "Angels."

Fourteen years after Third Impact, Shinji Ikari awakens to a world he does not remember. He hasn't aged. Much of Earth is laid in ruins, NERV has been dismantled, and people who he once protected have turned against him. Befriending the enigmatic Kaworu Nagisa, Shinji continues the fight against the angels and realizes the fighting is far from over, even when it could be against his former allies. The characters' struggles continue amidst the battles against the angels and each other, spiraling down to what could inevitably be the end of the world.

"Revival of Evangelion" combines the movies, "Evangelion: Death (True)²" (a re-edit of "Death" segment from "Death and Rebirth") and "The End of Evangelion," into one long production. It is a "complete" ending.

The series is a parody of Neon Genesis Evangelion, in which the entire cast of the original series are now everyday students going to junior high school together at Tokyo-3. The series features three Rei sisters: one is a child younger than the rest based on Rei 1, the second is based on Rei 2 (the Rei seen for most of the normal series), and the third Rei is actually based on the hyperactive and klutzy Alternate Rei (seen in the alternate-reality dream sequence from the final episode of the original series). Further, Evangelion Unit 01 itself is one of their classmates, but this time as a human-sized robot who acts as something of a class bully. Even the Jet Alone robot is re-imagined as a character on the series.

EVANGELION is coming to an end. NHK spent 4 years with exclusive access to director Hideaki Anno, documenting the creative process behind the final EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME. For the first time, the camera is allowed inside Anno's studio. Evangelion Symphony (エヴァンゲリオン交響楽 Evangerion Kōkyōgaku) is an orchestral live album featuring music from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. In 1997 it was recorded at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall. It was released on December 22, 1997 with the catalogue number KICA-390/1 on King Records' label Starchild Records. Shirō Sagisu created and produced the music. It also managed to peak rank 34 in the Oricon charts, managing to make a total of 6 frequent appearances.

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, YOKO TAKAHASHI, known for singing the theme song of the TV anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion", performed a live concert "YOKO TAKAHASHI EVANGELION Ultimate Live "Tsuki Juuya" at Zepp Shinjuku (TOKYO). It is part of the "EVANGELION KABUKICHO IMPACT" project held at "Tokyo Kabukicho Tower," which opened on April 14th. This is her FIRST solo performance based on the "Evangelion" series. Guests include pianist Marassi, who has been viewed over 700 MILLION TIMES on YouTube, violinist Shizuka Kashima, saxophonist Hiroshi Matsushita, and other INTERNATIONALLY ACTIVE performers appear on stage.
