A religious man diagnosed with cancer is stalked by the presence of a spirit of German culture, called The Erlkönig.

A father is riding with his son through the forest. The sick child thinks he sees the Erlking, who both charms and frightens him. Based on Goethe's poem "Erlkönig" and the music of Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt.

While cycling through a dark forest at night, a young boy is visited by der Erlkönig, a harbinger of death. He asks for his father to save him but the father can't see the Erlkönig and there is nothing to stop the approach of death.

It's loosely inspired by Goethe's poem and tells the story of a rider in the night that takes desperate measures to evade his pursuer.
