Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Set in the 19th century against the backdrop of the Mutiny of 1857, the film is about the bravery of queen Lakshmibai, Rani of Jhansi, who took up arms and led her army against the British.

Jagmohan Jugral kills his twin brother, Manmohan, in order to escape from Customs Officer Verma. In the chase that follows, Jagmohan also kills Verma, and a doctor, Ashok Soni. With their deaths their children, Ramesh and Seema, are orphaned and end up at an orphanage. Both get separated when Seema is adopted by a respected couple. Ramesh runs away from the orphange and is adopted by Girdharilal, a career thief. Ramesh learns all the skills of thievery from Girdharilal. Ramesh is now grown up a better career thief than Gidharilal, and Seema too has grown up. Both are on the look-out for Jugral, who is now known as a very respectable citizen.

This film is about a poor painter named Chandrakant (Khalil) who is about to commit suicide when he meets the film star Manjiri (Sulochana). He is creatively rejuvenated by the fantasies she inspires. Manjiri's modeling sessions are used to narrate her biography: her mother was a prostitute with a heart of gold who made sure her daughter was well educated. Chandrakant and Manjiri fall in love, but he is already married and his vampish, ill-tempered wife will not set him free.

When the Raja of Jhansi dies, the British place harsh conditions before letting the Raja's son, Gangadhar, take over the throne. Jhansi's Rajguru plans ahead by getting a young girl, Manu, from a neighbouring kingdom to marry Gangadhar, despite their age difference. Manu is anointed the Rani of Jhansi and her name is changed to Laxmibai (Kashish). She soon gets pregnant but the newborn child dies a few months later. Bereft, Gangadhar's health begins to fail. With no hope of a natural heir to the kingdom, Gangadhar and Laxmibai adopt a young boy, Diwakar. When Gangadhar dies, Laxmibai attempts to have Diwakar anointed the Raja. However, the British object and soon declare war on Jhansi. How Laxmibai joins forces with Tatya Tope and fights the British to death iforms the rest of the film.

Noor Pur Ki Rani is a Pakistani drama serial that was aired on Hum TV. It is written by popular script writer Samira Fazal, and directed by Haissam Hussain. The drama was based on the English novel Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier.

Chittod Ki Rani Padmini Ka Johur was an Indian historical television drama on Sony Entertainment Television, based on the life of Rani Padmini, the famous 14th-century queen of Chittod, Mewar, Rajasthan. The drama premiered on May 25, 2009 with Sony TV's "new look" along with many other shows. The series is produced by National Award winning director, Nitin Chandrakant Desai, who spent millions of rupees to create the "right look" for the drama. The drama was meant to run for 6 months, but ended after 48 episodes due to its exceeding expenses and low TRPs.
