A teacher is suspected of engaging in a 'special relationship' with a pupil. When said pupil disappears, the rumour gains momentum. Especially because two years earlier, another of the teacher's teenage pupils also disappeared.

"Sounds of images" come to me from the windows overlooking rue Saint-Maur (the former pilgrims' path to Saint-Denis) and suddenly make me want to take a closer look. "Images", at the same time, spring from T.S.F.'s post, Louis Moreau Gottschalk starts playing on the keyboard of the pedestrian crossing at the bottom, there, just below my windows; Henri Vieuxtemps makes the umbrellas dance to an old American tune and Gaël, on a visit, takes up this tune on his magic flute. "Some naturalists claim that insects adapt to the vegetation around them and modify their physiology accordingly," says Louis Moreau Gottschalk; I claim that some filmmakers adapt to the spectacle around them and modify their perception of the world accordingly. Certainly I am one of them, and I console myself by thinking that I am not the only one of my kind.

In the calm of the jungle, an unusual noise scares the animals who panic one after the other ; as the rumour spreads, their behaviour becomes increasingly irrational.

Lake Kivu, situated in one of the most unstable regions in the world, is portrayed by the stories of local fishermen living in the Kivu province in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). They live on and thanks to the lake, they know all his secrets. They tell them, drifting with the flow on their pirogue or during a late evening gathering along the lake's banks: stories about two countries at war - The DRC and Rwanda, the rumour of a killer fish, a gigantic reserve of methane about to blow up, the legend of Mami Wata, or the fabulous memories of an old woman... So many stories about life and death, fishing and legacy, which form a collection that reveals the secret identity of an amazing place.
